Over the course of 10 years, I learned the true meaning of the phrase...

No donor , no transplant.

For those 20,154 people who are waiting on the waiting list "as of February 2024", according to the official data of the National Transplant Center (CENATRA) according to official data from the National Transplant Center (CENATRA), the donor is that marvelous miracle that will allow them to ward off death; that miracle that makes their hearts ache with longing, knowing that their life depends on the absolute goodness of another human being.

Today I invite you to express your decision to be a donor.

I would like to invite you to seek reliable information on the subject of organ and tissue donation, to make a decision based on concrete and real facts, but above all to share with your family members the decision that will allow you to become a real hero for many people.

What does means to donate?

  • That they respect the will of the loved one who has perished, being a donor is the maximum representation of respect for the wishes of the one to whom they must say goodbye. The one who, in full use of his mental faculties and full of love for his fellow man, has let them know that he wishes to give life to those who truly require it at the moment of his departure.

  • Donation represents the pinnacle of medical events, the opportunity to make use of their surgical skills to engender new life for their patients, knowing that they are only instruments of the loving will of another human being similar to themselves. Simple artificers of the ultimate expression of a species that day by day struggles for a survival of the highest quality in a world of increasing hostility.

  • The donor means the absolute gratification for life, the adrenaline of coordinating a diverse group of specialists on whose precision depends to maintain the most sublime will of love that we can express as human beings; to give life by saying yes to the donation of organs and tissues.

But without a doubt...

The donation also represents oblivion.

The oblivion and delegation of certain social groups that minimize the power of the action of donation, that prioritize massive campaigns on an issue that has the real and proven potential to save lives and to economically reintegrate patients; represents the social ignorance of a public health issue and the detachment from the interest of a group of chronic degenerative diseases that day by day increase the number of patients on the waiting list.

On 10 years as coordinator transplant coordinator...

I have been fortunate to feel the absolute goodness of Mexican hearts, that nobility, respect and honor for life that in the moment of greatest mourning remember through their own heartbeats that nothing is completely black; that even in the worst scenarios we have the power to paint life with colors and that through the decision to donate, the hope of those who cling to that absolute miracle of life is exalted in green.
